ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Nothing now remains of the medieval walled city of Alhama de Granada, but plans of the walls that surrounded the city do still exist from the 16th century. Here I have tried to recreate how the city may have appeared during its heyday. Alhama was an important town under the Moors, it sits halfway between Malaga and Granada and it was the first city to be taken during the reconquesta of Granada.
