This painting evolved from the artist’s recent epiphany that love actually is the highest form of existence, where numerous daily decisions must be made to love intentionally. The artist strives to combat all lesser emotions, along with their destructive consequences, by her continual awareness and decision to choose love above all else. Although the focus on love is healing, overcoming, and empowering, the impact of the sadnesses of the world is apparent in the coarse texture across the surface of the canvas. Goodpaster chose this loose style of painting to better enable her spirit to speak and express emotion, rather than a tighter control and rigid rendering. To approach love in this painting as the intentional wave of energy woven throughout.
