ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This acrylic painting on linen canvas is part of a long series. It is mainly a black and white painting with a light shade of blue and of earth brown color. In this series, I tell the story of an instant, a stopped instant, an "interrupted time". It is a whisper of waiting, somewhere between vegetal, animal and mineral world. Indeed, started in July 2016, the Suspended Time series, took me for more than 3 years on its paths. Exploring, advancing by digging such a long-lasting furrow brought out the strange and the unexpected; and this was a source of great happiness for me.

Luc Babin, born in Niort (79) in 1953, lives and works in Val d'Oise (95). When he was a child, Art was the other side of the world. He is therefore self-taught. The desire to confront the material quickly led him to practice acrylic painting. The need to experiment is its driving force. His practice is mainly non-figuration. Nature is his main source of inspiration; he draws from it lights, energies and particular forms. The theme of time is one of its major subjects.
