ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I started painting in this style of abstract after many years of practicing portraits in a traditional style. A very good friend of mine, Omari, passed away very unexpectedly. I needed an outlet to deal with all of the complicated emotions, feelings, and thoughts I was struggling with. This painting was painted on a very beautiful sunny day in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Everything was so calm and quiet, until an intense altercation occurred across the street, and everything turned ugly.
