Liza Miseikyte is a Lithuanian abstract artist based in Vilnius and London, currently studying history of art at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Her first solo exhibition “Bruised but otherwise untouched” took place in “AIDAS” gallery in Vilnius. “I make all my decisions on intuition. But then, I must know why I made that decision. I throw a spear into the darkness. That is intuition. Then I must send an army into the darkness to find the spear. That is intellect.” - Ingmar Bergman Creativity poses a problem of incompleteness. This is really what I am trying to explore. For me, the process of creation feels like a constant act of revitalisation through a nearly perpetual layering of paint. It is either not enough or way too much. It often feels that there is no in-between. That is what my works are all about - aiming to grasp that moment of finalisation. My art is a journey of discovery into a version of completeness, serenity of articulating colours, shapes, and patterns.
