ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A female figure with a dissociated gaze wearing a cracked-egg sculptural headdress lies on her back surrounded by energetic flashes of light and assorted elements. Painted from life drawing session with Drawing Cabaret Couture featuring model/dancer Janet Mayer and sets/art direction by Matthew Lawrence. James Walsh collection is brought to life through a combination of objects and ideas that interested the designer throughout the past year. The majority of pieces are 3D printed and coated in a crisp layer of flocked velvet. He explains, ‘Whilst each piece could be viewed as a stand alone object or sculpture, the excitement for me comes from when it is being worn.
