ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Jane Birkin,1960s counterculture icon, emerged in the swinging London scene and later found great success in France during her relationship with the incorrigible Serge Gainsbourg. In my second painting of Jane, I continue addressing the concept of celebrity deification by using a stained-glass effect. The playful, abstract shapes and colours in the background are psychedelic representations of a Spring landscape. On another level, for me, the painting represents the indomitable spirit, beauty and confidence of youth that arises prior to the constraints of adulthood. All my paintings are on professional-quality canvas, stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang. I use high-quality paint and medium during the painting process to maintain the beautiful colours and longevity of my work. My paintings come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Delivery of my work is insured and securely packaged with several layers of thick bubble wrap in a sturdy cardboard box or wooden crate.
