About The Artwork

23.5"x31.5" Acrylic on Canvas Board Janetta Forester Butterfly Lady 2017 ~ By Bethany Dawn Stevens This is a stunning original acrylic painting of a Janetta Forester Butterfly lady. Refreshed in the rainforests of Africa, the Janetta Forester (Euphraedra Janetta) stretches out her large vibrant wings and heads towards the warmth of the sun. --------------- About My Butterfly Ladies: Being in a situation and area that crushed my confidence and made me feel trapped, I dreamed of being free and exploring the world, but life limited me. My Butterfly Ladies are an expression of freedom and new beginnings, having the confidence to be different and flourishing in whatever direction life takes me. Each Butterfly Lady is based on a real butterfly. -------------- This painting is available in various size prints on fine art paper or box canvas.

I have always wanted to do my own thing where art was concerned. Even when I was a toddler at parents and toddlers group when adults or my parents tried to help me do something artistic I would get upset and not allow them to help and even though all the other toddlers produced better work, as adults had helped them, I didn't mind because mine was done by just me. As I progressed through school life, teachers would recognise my love and natural flair for art. As a result I decided to study Art and Design at college where I quite quickly gained the confidence to use paint and grew in my techniques. Using my love of nature and artists I studied such as Salvador Dali and Vladimir Kush as inspiration, I began to develop my own style and produced work that reflected my life's limitations and my life goals. Wanting to be free and not be limited by the area in which I lived and have the confidence to break free and escape that environment.
