About The Artwork

What/who inspired the work? As one another highlights of the exhibition, this is breathtaking scenery full of water reflections effects is place in the near of Fuji Mountain. This represents the challenging beauty of the Arts in Japanese culture. The main actor in this dreamy world is played by the geisha who provides an atmosphere of chic and gaiety for her wealthy observer. The second role is played by the Betta fish, Unlike some fish species, they are highly interactive, and you can truly "bond" with their partner. In this scenery, we can see the fascination that male fish have for the Geisha. He loves her, but his desire cannot be rewarded. She is a cultural performer who is deeply respected. Geisha never sleeps with their clients. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? My viewer's mind sinks inside the paint in an Art of internal introspection to appreciate the beauty of the fully detailed nature landscapes and symbolic elements I represent to create a sense of calmness. They can explore for hours each of the details that hide secrets inside my paintings. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, and style? I have chosen acrylic on canvas because offers me the versatility to produce the same effects of older masters of paints and control the layerings. My subject matter is unique, no one is doing this style of painting with the amount of technique and know how I applied it. It’s a very complex process, that I made look simple by emphasizing the presence of nature. My style relies in pure figurative and a mix of unique techniques of multi-stenciling and layering transparencies that make this Art Unique. Out of the box.

Schafer’s work is a joyful explosion of color and form that pulls individuals and expectations into a dreamy world of liquid dreams. Highly influenced by different streams of arts Figurativism (Johan Anton), Pop art (Andy Warhol), and constructivism by Lissitsky, Adrian it’s a master in capturing the energy and excitement of nature life in every composition.
