ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In this painting, my cousin Jelani is portrayed holding the artist's nephew Keni in the pool as he sleeps and floats with his life jacket. Water plays such an important role in many aspects of life, and is a source of sustenance and rejuvenation. This painting is inspired by a family trip to Ghana in 2019.
