Kelly and his gang, Jerilderie, NSW 1879. A time that would be etched into the history books of Australia. Existing as both aesthetic exploration and cultural statement, this work is an exploration into the dichotomy of heroism and the fear of the transience of our existence. This work has been realised in the colours of Australian landscape - the cool blues of water and heat of the summer captured in bold movements are juxtaposed with geometric lines to create a pleasing antagonism reminiscent of the argument between the aesthetic and the consequential.
