Sometimes I want to be a revolutionary and revolt, to stop the inhumane exploitation of animals in a brutal way. Insurgent thoughts can strongly motivate to become active, to get involved. In my paintings I create a colorful, happy and positive world of happy cows - subtly complemented with triggers...

For over 15 years, Fredi Gertsch has dedicated himself to painting with passion and devotion. Every day, he picks up his brush to create colorful, symbolic works that go far beyond mere visual pleasure. His art aims to touch, inspire, and encourage – it celebrates life and invites us to embrace new perspectives. Fredi Gertsch's "cool cow paintings" have already traveled far and wide – from Zurich to Singapore, New York, Munich, Sydney, Helsinki, and Zhu Hai. This international resonance confirms that his art speaks a universal language: one of joy, love, courage, and strength. Two sources shape his works: Many paintings emerge 100% from his imagination, without references – pure imagination that flows into poetic landscapes, urban scenes, playful still lifes, and characterful animal portraits. Other works begin with a digital sketch (Procreate, Midjourney), which serves as a visual notebook. But during the painting process, he freely transforms the template – changes colors, adds symbols, abstracts. This creates independent, unmistakable paintings that clearly bear his signature. He finds inspiration in songs, films, legends, social issues, and the colorful chaos of everyday life. Cows, sheep, flowers, and other animals repeatedly appear as protagonists in his visual worlds – sometimes humorous, sometimes poetic, sometimes critical. Each canvas is a new adventure, where impressions and thoughts merge into stories that convey lightness and optimism. His works are far more than decorative elements – they aim to move, provoke thought, and leave a lasting impression. Those who engage with them discover a world full of color, imagination, and joie de vivre – and an unmistakable signature that combines authenticity with contemporary visual language.
