The deity assigned with the task of keeping complete records of every actions of every individual on earth. Having the authority to reward and punish them according to their Karmas is the almighty closer to the heart of the clan Kayastha. This painting titled “Kayastha” is inspired from Pattachitra. This artform known for its intricate details as well as for the mythological narratives and folktales inscribed in it. Pattachitra one of the ancient artworks of Odisha, originally created for ritual use and as souvenirs for pilgrims to Puri, as well as other temples in Odisha is a detailed distinguished artform. I have used brushes, nib-pens, acrylic paint on a 13.5 x 10.5”handmade paper. The beauty of the art form is its intricate details on every inch of the canvas i.e. the intricate double lined border, ornate floral patterns, royal courtyard with the use of bright primary colours like red, Royal blue, green, gold pink and red making it vibrant and eye catching.
