Rintske Bosma was born in 1975 in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. From an early age she had a passion for drawing and painting. She graduated in 1993 with a degree in the history of art and drawing, while studying different techniques and taking numerous art courses. Her work varies from impressionistic figurative to pure abstract work. Her preference is to work with oil and acrylic as she likes the texture it brings to a piece. "Painting brings me back to my true self. I cannot cheat as the painting itself reveals to me when it is finished. My abstract works are the expression of my deepest feelings. The most beautiful and rewarding moment is when the viewer feels the same emotion looking at my work as I did when I painted it. For my figurative work; I am very much inspired by Van Gogh and Cézanne. I love their use of color and the variety of their work. When I start my painting, I imagine how the painting will be when it's finished and often it works out that way. But sometimes, even I am surprised and delighted by the unexpected outcome.
