ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painted after my return to the UK from my travels in Japan.I loved every moment of this fascinating country. Kyoto is the old capital of Japan and is a must see on anyone's travel list for Japan. The Shinkansen or Bullet Train is famous across the world for it's speed and punctuality....a tourist attraction in itself; being a great travel experience. For me this painting: the ultra modern alongside the ancient culture sums up Japan.

I was short-listed (top 25) in the Jackson's Mussini Oil Painting Competition with my very colourful and textured painting of a Brass and Glass Still-life which is available to buy as an open-edition print on this site (the original is a small block canvas oils "Glass, Brass and Colour" 40 x 40 x 4cm). A life-long artist; producing work in a wide range of mediums; I often paint in either Acrylics or Oils. I have over 30 yrs experience as a Professional Photographer much of which gained on assignments across the globe. Although I was awarded a distinction in A level art many years ago I am largely self-taught, constantly following my own ideas and striving to develop my techniques. I am continuing to explore large geometric abstract compositions with textural effects.
