I will try to give an interpretation of my inspiration which makes me create this panel and the others of course, of this series. I was born in Samos, my experience living on an island is a vivid recollection and penetrates my life. Of course, the sea has everything to do with it, I carry with me a fertile treasure of depiction and motion that inspired me constantly. Sometimes like the main subject, sometimes like spacial context in which emerges my fantasy related to the world of relative reality which influences me and vice versa. Everything I paint consists of the aspects of agreements and disagreements in time, in space, in participation and the comprehension of this perpetual fluidity of life. The main form of these images of the sea is the God Poseidon. My ancient forefathers render in this godhead attributes of water, mainly those of the sea, while humanizing the natural elements and every characteristic of behavior. Content and form are recognized through a correspondent–projection of their psychism, making familiar at the same time the Cosmos, which surround or encircle man, as a part of the behavior with which it was harmonized. Painting the series of the sea and the shells, I drew from my memories the intensity of the moment. I worked with the fruits of the sea and the influence of emotion–logic intensely in relation to my surroundings. Men, facts, conditions, etc. are like a passage or a visit from my past, or in the dimension of time chiseled in my brain and my heart without direction, interference or manipulation from outside.
