The visual memory and art history are raw materials for my work. In this painting I mix the classicism of Girodet's paintings and geometric monochrome shapes. Original painting made with acrylic on canvas. Signed in front . Unframed .Will ship on a box.

Fábio Borges' artistic investigation explores the relationship between the parts and the whole they form. It emerged from the observation of patchwork quilts, Portuguese tile panels and the pixels of digital images. His art creation process begins on the computer before materializing on canvas or paper. He uses acrylic paint and spray over sublimatic ink printing to create transparency and opacity effects. Geometric shapes overlap the figurative images and transform them into “watermarks”. These are subliminal messages that raise antagonistic issues such as inclusion and exclusion, preservation and extinction. There are variations of subjects in his works, but when he paints he doesn't see them as something that belongs to him. He perceives them as a connecting device between his personal experiences and those of the spectators. Leaving his studio to faraway places, his works are free to create new meanings. Fábio Borges' paintings are part of several public and private collections in the United States, Brazil, Italy, France and Portugal.
