Giusy Lauriola, an Italian artist born and residing in Rome, explores a complex dialogue between gesture, color, and sign through her art. Resin, a material that consistently characterizes her work, merges with a chromatic research that combines abstraction and figuration, creating a balance between emotion and perception. Her delicate figuration, far from mimicking reality, becomes a symbol of a new metaphysical dimension, while the underlying abstraction suspends time and space, inviting existential reflections. In 2021, at the SyArt Sorrento International Festival, she received the prestigious Arbiter Fata Verde Award, and in 2022 she was featured on the cover of Arbiter magazine. She also received an Honorable Mention from the Circle Foundation for the Arts in 2020 and 2022, and was a finalist in prominent competitions such as the Premio Lupa 2020 and the Premio Celeste 2007. In 2015, she won the Museo Pier Maria Rossi competition. Her works are part of prestigious collections, including the Copelouzos Family Art Museum in Athens, the SanPaolo Invest Art Collection in Rome, and the Pinacoteca Comunale Antonio Sapone in Gaeta. From 2021 to 2024, she participated in numerous contemporary art fairs, such as Arte in Nuvola in Rome, and fairs in Genoa, Padua, and Parma. In 2020, she was included in the Atlante dell'Arte Contemporanea De Agostini, one of the most comprehensive surveys of Italian artists from 1950 onwards. Her career has led her to exhibit internationally, as an honorary guest at the International Photo Festival in Lodz (Poland) in 2006, and in solo exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Italian Cultural Institute of Damascus in 2010, and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo in 2024, on the occasion of Holocaust Memorial Day.
