The physical texture of this painting is rough. The oil paint is in unforgiving lines - slashes if you will. Hanging hardware isn't included but it's easy to hang as is. I painted this piece when I was going through one of the darkest times in my life. The mental pain and anguish I felt was so immense that I needed to find a way to express to the people around me how I was feeling. I hope its viewers will feel horror, sympathy and disgust at man's inhumanity to man and see the effects that cruelty has on another person's psyche. I choose oil because its thick texture reminded me of blood. This painting embodies the extreme mental pain I was experiencing in the aftermath of abuse. The title means "tortured head" in French.
