Inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi’s canticle LAUDATO SI, where we are reminded that our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life, and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us. This reverie depicts a harmonious abode that serves as a bridge among all living creatures. Of course, this environment is our precious home, and it is our task to keep this harmony alive. This work does not only celebrate nature and life, but also resonates with deep meanings. Here, I ask the viewer to direct his attention inward, in a contemplative way to explore the spiritual and the temporal, and the relationship between them, in a thought-provoking way. Practically everyone feels connected to a place of nostalgic or sweet memories of some happy time in the past to which one returns in one’s mind, picking particular moments to cherish. And this, in fact served as the objective when I embarked on painting such a large and unusual canvas. In a way, this rural setting and peasant milieu crafted some of the imagery, a symbolism of idyll home that can be revisited whenever one feels the urge to even virtually.

“When I hold my brush, I close my eyes and let the spirit guide me in choosing a colour, the brush then moves and the rest is history…” LCR @ 2017 Cultures and life events often feed my themes with inspiration. These sources work as catalysts to stir something within my inner being, that is bound to express itself on paper, wood, glass or walls. Vibrant and strong colours mark my work to a great extent thus leaving infinite intrigue and aspiration in the eyes and heart of the viewer. My genre ranges from Abstract to Expressionism and Realism using oil, acrylic, ink and watercolours. Not to forget the unique way of interweaving a story in Oshibana style. Oshibana is a Japanese art that dates back as early as the 16th century using pressed flowers and other botanical materials. Since 2018, I have been facilitating Art Workshops on and off across the UK/Europe.
