I was inspired to paint this beautiful landscape of a local lavender farm in full bloom. Lavender blooms in early June here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Summer breezes move the trees and their foliage contrasts with the beautiful purple blooms. I can smell the scent of summer.

Jane is a professional artist living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. After a career in acting, public relations and marketing, she devotes her time to plein air painting. Her artwork is inspired by her observation natural world--the colors, forms and light which informs the landscape. Working in a variety of mediums and styles in her studio, her more abstract works reflect her emotional response to the natural world. She was awarded Best in Show at Stewart Gallery in Gloucester Virginia. Jane studied art at Connecticut College and with artists in the US and abroad. She spends her time traveling and painting in locations she loves in Europe and around the US. Fine art prints and cards are available in addition to originals.
