Elena Stauffer, born in 1980, lives and works in Thun, a beautiful Alpine town in Switzerland. I want to make the interface between personal experiences and collective memories visible. Through materiality, form and color I investigate topics such as identity, transience and relationship. My work is created at the interface of craftsmanship and concept, whereby I reinterpret traditional techniques to question current issues of society. Every work is a dialogical impulse that invites viewers to discover their own meanings and to engage in a quiet but lively encounter with the unconscious.
