Born in Russia, live in Germany. In my paintings I explore the relation between daily life and human nature. In my portraits I am not searching for photographic resemblance, but try to characterize as sincerely as possible the personality, the essence, the emotional expression of the person before me. I try to transport this special atmosphere to the viewer. I have been working with "urban landscapes" and "city places" for quite long time. I am not interested in attractions or recognizable places, but I seek out the views more reflecting my spirit, such as urban places, which are integrated into our everyday life and however are either completely or partly uninhabited. This particular atmosphere between concrete and asphalt, the prevailing solitude, emptiness and isolation are the focus of my work. My artworks with ink on paper I consider as spontaneous abstracts. These works explore the relationship between abstraction and figuration, investigate the human body in abstract form. I try to develop the drawing as an independent, artistic expression.
