ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Life of Bee. This piece is in oil paint on canvas. It's a playful look at a bee's life and immerses the viewer inside a flower. A more serious underlying theme is that we need to protect the bees so that they can keep pollinating the planet with plant fertility. When I painted this piece, I wanted to capture the fatness and buzziness of a bumblebee and the richness of its pure indulgent plunge into a flower's pollen.
