Humans have been searching for illumination in the dark and being alone and uncertain most of the time. A candle illuminates only a tiny part of surroundings, compared with the immense darkness. The candlelight and shadows on the tunnel wall are entangled with each other, flickering and gradually fading away, just like people's dreams. Every scene is clear, but fail to be understood as a whole. In the end, only the loss and madness originated from the unconsciousness get to be delivered. The flickering candlelight moves along with the miners, and witnesses human’s fear of darkness and greed for light.
