This is a memorial painting for the finest cockerel I have even known. Lord Uthari Dragonheart (Uthari for short), named for a friend in World of Warcraft who also sadly passed away. He was an amazing little general, and once scared away a stoat in full blood-lust just by looking at him. The 16 geese also loved and respected him, and would come to his side if they saw passing tourists trying to harass him while he was doing his rounds. He used to flutter up into the apple trees and shake the branches until the ripe apples fell out. The geese would then bite them into pieces that were easy to eat for all the chickens and ducks (and, of course, themselves). But more than anything, Uthari loved gooseberries. It is only fitting that he should be pictured with them. A detail of this painting is also featured on the physical CDs of my 8th studio album "Let There Be Light" (on the disc itself). The original is not for sale, but I try to put his memorial picture in places that others will see it , for the memory of this fine little man, but also in memory of my friend.

British animator/artist/musician who followed the sunlight and wound up in Sicily, Italy. I have been single-handedly creating an animated series called VOID since 2021 and releasing (music) albums as The Lowest of Low since 2018. Trained in painting, and in pottery and sculpture (under Sandra McKenzie-Schmitt in the US), I took up painting again after many years of trying to live a “normal” life (rather hopeless, I’m afraid…) as an organic farmer in the North York Moors. I’m happy for the experience though now I do enjoy the motor control that comes from feeling your fingers while you work. I most enjoy painting landscapes and animals. And probably food. I’m not sure if that’s because of the farming, or the farming was because of this original attraction to living in the land, the sky, caring for animals and planting. Who can say? “Show me the face you had before you were born!” Meditation and Zen Buddhism are important to me. I have lived and worked in the US, UK, India, Japan and Italy. Perhaps Egypt next. Every place opens different aspects, informs something, influences the lens through which I experience the world, and that’s the place out of which my artwork comes. It is my sincere hope that it resonates with something in you and brings you joy. My "painting name" is Anna Lipari, in part as an homage to my great-grandmother, whose name was Anna, and in part because it pleases me to sign my paintings "AL". Lipari is a volcanic island off the coast of Sicily. I'm rather fond of volcanoes and islands, being perhaps a little bit of both those things (metaphorically) myself.
