ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A Love Letter to Myself was inspired by my own personal practice of cultivating self-kindness and self love. At the time i was teaching an online course 'Mastering Mixed Media Abstract Painting' online and wanted to create a painting that used collage, reverse transfer, translucent layers and other effects. This painting was the result and if you look closely it is imbued with words, sentences and parts of the original love letter I wrote to myself to start the painting. I have written a blog sharing the inspiration, process, and creation of this painting :
