My work is about connection across distance, this is portrayed in my paintings as vast open spaces, with little interruption, like a clearing between these different planes. This space relates to the distance of time as well as the physical distance.
I strive to create an atmosphere of calmness and serenity in my work, I’d like to think that people could dive into my paintings and lose them selves there for a while.
Inspirations include Joan Eardley, Mark Rothko and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
My figurative work is mainly academic, line, shape, tone, as well as being a meditative practice where I can lose myself.
Inspirations include Gustav Klimt and Egon Scheile.
