This landscape is inspired by surfing in Cornwall UK; golden reflections on the sand, the rocky outcropping in the distance and that delicious sense of fatigue after a really good day. This work is painted on the sides so that framing is optional, it is ready to hang with D hooks and wire.

Lucy MacQueen is a British-born, Austin-based painter whose work explores the space between landscape and memory. Inspired by places she has known and loved—from the Texas prairies and salt marshes to the softer greens of the UK and beyond—her paintings evoke a sense of familiarity without being tied to a single location. They are less about what is seen, and more about what is remembered. Working in acrylic and gold leaf on panel, she creates large-scale works in which light plays an active role—the gold leaf shifting and refracting throughout the day. Largely self-taught, she has developed her practice through years of studio work and engagement with the artistic community.
