Luz as Ixchel Print

In this painting, the treatment and invoice for the composition solutions are important, as well as my interest in avoiding the photographic language and digital process in which I conceived it, Visual Culture and religious baroque painting. The painting contains elements of semantics as a pretext to assist with solutions to alternatives originating from the pictorial turn (WJT Mitchel). The contrast between references such as visual icons (in this case the Pin-up illustration or known in Mexico as chrome or print) or the virgins in Western art are integrated into the piece with the echo of the factual representation of the errors or accidents in the digital processes that developed it in the process, evidence that I try to keep in this painting in order to reference its procedural part. The contents crowd together in an uneven way to validate a classic iconic image with the female body as the protagonist, each element in the piece is linked to my story. Structure, color and rhythm participate in such a way that the intentionally uneven image crosses the fine line where the recognizable and its synchronous aspect can be perceived from a place of fantasy and visual enjoyment.
