This swan lived in a pond nearby and was so beautiful that I wanted to portray him. I did not plan to give hom a crown, but when painting him it just seemed to be something that I had to add. The measures given are with frame- without frame they are 24 cm high and 19 cm width.

I was born in1953 in Indonesia, while my parents lived there working for Shell. In 1958 we moved back to The Netherlands. After highschool I went to the Artcollege in Rotterdam in the early 70s. As long as I can remember I have felt the need to create things; at first drawing and sculpting in clay, later on also painting and sculpting in bronze and stone. The joy of creating, handling materials, and a deep longing for beauty are my motivation. Actually all I want to do is “to make beautiful things”….. Animals are a favourite subject, especially horses and dogs. But I also paint dreamlike fantasy landscapes, as well as still lifes. When other people also enjoy my work it is very rewarding and fills me with gratitude.
