This is one of my important artworks, which I produced in 2022 in collaboration with Simon Rogan and the Lakes Distillery. Simon Rogan, the 3-Michelin-Star chef, celebrated the 20th anniversary of his successful culinary journey in 2022. For this commemorative year, the company produced The Whiskymaker’s Editions ‘Reflections', a limited-edition single malt whisky. This collaboration marked 20 years of Simon Rogan’s past accomplishments, present triumphs, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. For this, I created a piece of work entitled “Marigolds”, which symbolises Simon’s culinary ethos on the green restaurant status, by researching his ‘Our Farm’ in Cartmel, experiencing work with farmers to understand their tireless efforts to produce a variety of vegetables, fruits and flowers, all serve for Simon's Michelin dishes. Please see the below links for details: I created this work with my signature line hatching method by paying meticulous attention to detail in the highly stylised fashion inspired by the British Arts and Crafts artist William Morris.

Japanese visual artist Hideyuki Sobue (b. 1965), who graduated from Osaka University of Arts, lives and works in the Lake District, UK, yet grew up as an orphan in Aichi, Japan. Working with drawing and painting, two historical media that have served as a fundamental means of communication since prehistoric times, he explores the unbroken line in the relationship between art and humanity. Sobue uses an entirely original brush hatching technique employing Japanese sumi ink and acrylic. Created through a fusion of influences - the concept of Disegno in the Florentine school of the Renaissance, oriental artistic heritage and neurological studies - Sobue’s medium attempts to create a platform bridging East and West, and explore the interdisciplinary approach related to the human act of seeing, delving into the mystery and uniqueness of humanity. Sobue has exhibited extensively throughout the UK and Japan. Notable exhibitions include 'A Letter to the Earth from Beatrix' commissioned by the National Trust and supported by Arts Council England
