ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by the 7th century hidden icon of Mary, the Advocata Nostra in Rome, Italy. I wanted to show the Mother of God, as she stood in the upper room, simple, silent, steadfast, and at the heart of the Paschal Mystery. This is a scene captured in darkness. Back then there was no electricity, so I envisaged Her holding a candle thus keeping the light aflame in the room and in the spirits of those surrounding Her. I hope this image will enkindle that light in your heart, thus giving you courage and hope.

My genre ranges from Abstract to Expressionism and Realism using oil, acrylic, ink and watercolours. Not to forget the unique way of interweaving a story in Oshibana style. Oshibana is a Japanese art that dates back as early as the 16th century using pressed flowers and other botanical materials. Since 2018, I have been facilitating Art Workshops on and off across the UK/Europe.
