About the Artist

Dalibor Vuckovic

Croatia

Dalibor Vučković (Stroj Robotsky) was born on September 30, 1981, in Rijeka, Croatia.
From an early age, he showed a strong interest in visual arts, exploring drawing, painting, and various creative workshops. After graduating from the School of Applied Arts and Design, he continued his artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he studied painting.
His artistic practice is deeply rooted in the aesthetics of industrial landscapes. Factories, shipyards, abandoned buildings, and traces of urban decay frequently appear as central motifs in his work, reflecting both the history and atmosphere of places shaped by industry.
Working across a range of media, Vučković combines oil painting, acrylics, screen printing, collage, and mixed techniques. In recent years, he has focused primarily on mixed-media works, often integrating screen printing with hand-painted elements to create layered, textured compositions.
Music plays a significant role in his creative process. He draws inspiration from 1980s synth-pop, dark wave, and industrial music, whose atmospheric and mechanical qualities resonate with the visual language of his work.
Many of his compositions originate from photographs he takes while walking through Rijeka, a city with a rich industrial heritage. These images serve as both documentary records and starting points for paintings that explore memory, transformation, and the poetic beauty of post-industrial environments.
