ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired by the symbols we associate with men and women. are these symbols or images true or a fair representation. This is the first in this series. i want the viewer to feel the power of these symbols as well as question the symbols before them. I am always fascinated with our place in the world by gender and gender inequality. I wanted to break it down to almost a cave painting.

She is currently working on her Masters in Art and will be teaching art classes at Glynn Visual Arts Center on Saint Simons Island Georgia in the fall. She also serves on their education in the arts committee. Theresa considers herself an intuitive artist. She uses colors and texture to convey her thoughts and feelings. Color and form are constantly explored and she is influenced by nature, science and media. She creates vibrant and thought provoking pieces that take you to another place and time.
