"Maite Fernández Encinar (Gijón, 1957) es una pintora autodidacta inspirada en el postimpresionismo francés y el modernismo catalán de autores como Paul Cézanne o Hermenegildo Anglada Camarasa. Maite domina el color, el manejo de la espátula y la experiencia matérica a fin de plasmar fundamentalmente paisajes recuerdo de sus viajes, donde destacan especialmente los tonos turquesa. Su formación se ha nutrido a través de experiencias de aprendizaje impartidas por artistas de renombre como Juan Manuel Fernández Pinedo, Cristóbal Pérez o Paco Segovia, entre otros; y a través de cursos de pintura de alcance nacional como el impartido anualmente en el Museo Manuel López Villaseñor de Ciudad Real, que cuenta entre su profesorado con autores como Laura de la Colina y Víctor Chacón. La ora de Maite ha estado expuesta con regularidad en numerosas ciudades del ámbito nacional, tanto de forma individual como colectiva".
