ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The woman in my painting exudes a love for all things beautiful and the joys of life. Through my brush strokes, I aimed to capture a sense of romance, freedom, and relaxation, incorporating Fauvist color schemes and romanticism as key themes. She would play her cello in dimly lit bars and on street corners for anyone who would listen. Her music was wild and passionate, not the refined, polished sound of the concert hall. She refused to play by the rules. One night, a stranger approached her. He asked her to play at a benefit concert for refugees. She agreed, and her performance was electric. Afterward, he bought her painting of a woman playing the cello with abandon. She smiled, knowing that her free mind and spirit had touched someone else.
