ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Misty Mornings evokes a sense of calm and serenity. The lower portion of the painting is dominated by deep, moody blues and indigo, reminiscent of a dark, mysterious ocean. Above, the sky is painted in a soft, misty blend of blues and whites, creating a peaceful and ethereal atmosphere. The overall composition suggests a tranquil morning scene, inviting the viewer to contemplate the beauty and peacefulness of nature. This artwork is a lovely addition to a small wall space at the end of a hallway, above an office desk, over a side table or on a bookshelf. Details: Acrylic and watercolor pencil on canvas; 12 x 12 inches; Name of painting, my signature, and year are on the back of the artwork. Framing: Edges are finished and framing is optional.

Indee Moss (b. 1981) is a fine artist working in both abstract and representational styles. She was born in Sri Lanka and raised in Sri Lanka and the U.K. Home for her is the U.S. where she has lived for over half her life. She currently resides in Ames, IA. Indee has always loved art as a child, whether it be drawing and painting or visits to museums. The natural world has always been her inspiration, ever caught up by the beauty and the “why” of nature. Even though the “why” initially led her towards the sciences, she always enjoyed drawing zoological and botanical illustrations in high school for her science classes. Indee received her formal education in the fields of chemistry and accounting: she pursued a BA in Chemistry and Mathematics from SUNY Potsdam, a Master's and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Rochester, and a Master's in Accounting from Iowa State University. Even while working in very left-brain oriented careers Indee always enjoyed drawing, painting, and photography of flowers, wildlife, and landscapes. After nearly 18 years of been part of academia and the corporate world, Indee is now following her calling and is a dedicated full-time artist. Indee's art skills are honed from hours at the easel as well as from workshops at the Penn Studio School of Art, Grand Central Atelier, and Art Students League of New York. She has studied with Ananda Fetherston, Eric March, Kate Jenvey, Nikki Carr, and Nicki Heenan. PRESS Artists Magazine, November/December 2024 issue: 2024 Third Annual "Artists to Watch" Competition.
