I am a self taught artist working in oils, gouache, and mixed media. My work is a celebration of timeless beauty, and the magic of storytelling. Inspired by nature, animals, the divine, and symbolism, I weave these elements with the rich tapestry of myth and folklore, breathing life into scenes that feel both familiar and fantastical to me. Beyond my paintings, my art embraces the tactile world of mixed media, incorporating vintage findings, delicate fabrics, aged papers, and elegant embellishments. These carefully chosen materials add layers of history and texture, creating depth and intrigue, as if each piece holds a story waiting to be uncovered. Through soft hues, intricate details, and dreamlike compositions, my goal is to evoke wonder, serenity, and quiet magic. The creative process is a blend of structure and intuition. Each pieces goes through a kind of evolutionary process from concept to completion. At times I am immersed in nature, observing while sketching, making small studies, and taking photographs. Other times I am reflecting, feeling, and expressing from my dreams and inner nature, or mythic inspiration. I love having a feeling of dreaminess woven into even the most simple compositions. In my studio I utilize the references I make and other mediums for final compositions. Working mainly with oil with elements of pastel, translucent papers, and gesso or medium for added depth and texture. Mixed media pieces may have watercolor, pastel, vintage ribbon, papers, crystals or jewlery, and other decorative pieces combined with a wood cradle board or frame. I hope that each creation is a portal and inspiration into a world where nature, myth, and artistry intertwine, awaken curiosity, and offer a heartfelt connection to the beauty and mystery of the world within and around us.
