Mom-Kusama Print

This portrait is very dear to me. I started painting my mom from a photograph, and first my grandfather showed up, with great sadness. I endured his sadness and fatigue with incredible effort. In the next approach, my mom seemed to be moving closer and farther away and her image was not given to me. Then I took a can of golden acrylic and sprayed the whole figure (at first there was a figure at the table). I felt a little better. After all, gold is the color of gratitude, thankfulness and letting go. I took up the brushes and oil again, and my mom gave up (or maybe I gave up on her, who knows). The surrounding background needed energy and clarity, and the yellow spray can came into play. And then I needed the presence of magenta, the color of active feminine love. And a little more balance, black pupils, fuchsia for lipstick (my mom loves to paint her lips, all her life she loved and knew how to do it without a mirror, she is now 93). Majenta and scarlet balloons from Kusama- done!
