ABOUT THE ARTWORK
After our trip to Scotland, where we saw many of these red dear running through the desolate landscape I got the inspiration for the painting of this magnificent male red dear. I started with making the acrylic paint myself and painted the abstract back ground on the floor. I make different layers. After a few layers the painting must dry before I paint the animal within the abstraction. I like to do the animals in waterbased oils on the abstract acrylic boackground.

I love to wander through the Zoo with my sketchbook and camera looking for beautiful compositions for my paintings My paintings have abstract compositions with the animal as a part of it. That's a symbol for the rightful place the animals or the wildlife have in this world. I start with a abstract composition. I love the coincendence of the planes, the splashes and the stripes. The coloring is natural with some bright colors to make it more interesting. Afterwards I surch for a place to paint an animal in the composition. I only paint a part of it to make the whole unexpected and interesting. Its like superposition to create from two images one painting. Species are disappearing because there habitat disappears. Only the number of humans increases fast. With my paintings I give the animals a voice and I paint them with great passion.
