I am a lover of Mondrains later work and this inspired me to create this piece.I feel that with only two colours I find it works well and this is my take on it. It is white oak veneer wood stained and mounted on mdf lightly varnished so that the texture of the wood grain can still be seen.

Born in 1978 I studied woodwork at college in the UK. I have NVQ Level 3 in this field. I have over 20 years experience working with this natural beautiful material. I previously made furniture but have moved towards wooden wall art. I enjoy taking this traditional material then staining it rather than painting it so the woodgrain still shows through the colours then working with it to form semi abstract pieces. I like geometric art, abstract art, seascapes, landscapes, parquerty and marquerty. I currently live in County Down Northern Ireland with my wife and two daughters.
