Christian Paulus grew up in Saarland, Germany and has always been interested in art from his childhood on. He does art in various forms and styles. Originally he started with calligraphy and graphic design and focuses now on painting with ink or oil. During several internships in carpenter's workshops and a blacksmith's shop he could gather experience with different materials and crafts. These learned skills led to the execution of his works in high-quality and detail. The biggest inspiration for his artworks are the composition and beauty of nature. Other inspiration come from his interest in different cultures, walks in nature, travels, stories and dreams. The styles and techniques of his artworks are very broad and do vary from realism to abstraction. In his paintings common and uncommon subjects or themes are portrayed in a layered technique within precise execution and an exotic spirit.
