“Moo” is a portrait of a cow. I love the countryside and grew up on a farm where I encountered many animals and wildlife which I have a deep affinity with. I was born in Wrexham and grew up on a sheep and dairy farm in the pretty Welsh borders. I work from a beautiful studio in the picturesque location of Erbistock. I had a formal art training and after graduating I moved to Stockholm, Sweden looking after two young children. On my return after a variety of jobs, I started working with Dunoon Ceramics producing coffee mug designs which sell all around the world. I have received various awards for my designs on tableware. My paintings are created out of my passion for art, colour, animals and pattern. They speak for me in a language of their own without the use of words. I tend to work in acrylics and water based paint. I often work in a sporadic and spontaneous way applying paint quickly. I want my paintings to inspire joy, beauty and happiness and like music I hope they soothe the soul. My favourite artists include, David Hockney, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, LS Lowry, Edgar Degas, Mark Rothko and Canaletto.
