A closed blue wooden window, square and weathered by time. In front of it, a simple cement yard where children once played, their laughter lingering in the shade of blooming bougainvilleas. I am a painter and visual artist based in Crete, Greece, deeply influenced by the island’s landscape, history and night atmosphere. For more than a decade, my primary medium has been soft pastel, drawn to its immediacy, luminosity, and honesty as pure pigment applied directly to archival paper using bare fingers. Alongside my artistic practice, I work in scientific research, a background that shapes my fascination with light, space and transformation. My work explores the meeting point between scientific observation and poetic imagination, often combining realism in detail with surreal or imaginary elements. All my pastel paintings are professionally wood framed, special spray protected and placed securely under matte (not glossy) glass. In recent years, my practice has expanded to include acrylics and oils, extending the same visual language through different surfaces and gestures. Whether working with pastel or liquid paint, recurring themes include memory, place, reflections and the moon, quiet symbols of time and inner worlds... Further works, writings and ongoing projects are available on my official website. I am a member of the Spanish Association of Pastel Painters (ASPAS) and the Pastel Guild of Europe.
