In Morning Table, Daniel Zimmerman turns his gaze to a quiet, familiar moment—the kind of everyday beauty that often goes unnoticed. A wrought iron garden set rests in lush green grass, dappled with light. Painted with thick, expressive strokes and a vivid, saturated palette, the composition hums wi...

Daniel Zimmerman is an Atlanta based artist. His large scale works are created using oil on canvas. Zimmerman explores themes of growth, potential, anticipation, and joy. His canvases are lavished in oil paint through expressive brush strokes and ambient backgrounds. Tucked behind a quiet garden gate, just past the low hum of insects and the hush of dappled sunlight, is a studio alive with brushstrokes, sawdust, and a kind of radiant optimism you can’t fake. It belongs to an artist who doesn’t just paint flowers—he builds whole worlds from them. His work is deeply tied to place—southern roots, garden beds, porch chairs, the quiet memory of childhood heat and zinnia fields—and yet it remains unbound. There’s nothing stiff or self-important here. Just the joyful, rigorous business of beauty “I grew up in very rural Mississippi,” he says, “and there were many parts of it I didn’t appreciate at the time. As a young person, you don’t know you’re making memories until much later. Now, I look back and smile. Most of my great memories are tied to the outdoors—the sights, the scents of nature.” That tether—between artist and self, between viewer and feeling, between land and light and brushstroke—is what makes his work quietly powerful. It doesn’t demand anything of you. It simply invites you in, then lets you decide where to go from there.
