I timed the display of this large watercolor to coincide with two dates - "Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror in Israel" and "Independence Day of the State of Israel." It is called "Morning of Israel." Once my wife and I went out at the bus station in Tel Aviv, and saw this peaceful scene - a fresh sunny morning and many soldiers, with huge backpacks behind our backs, going somewhere, going to small groups to chat, sit, discuss something. And some amazing benevolence in the eyes of passers-by, seeing these young - almost children - soldiers. I asked the comrade who met us why Israel loves its army so much? - So, after all, these are our children! he answered, somewhat amazed at my question. This is our future, he added. Then I decided to write this picture, and call it "Morning of Israel." This is not just the morning of a new day awakening after the winter of the country - these are the children of a beautiful, proud, kind country - its future, its Morning. soldiers
