ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is a part of my life's story. From chronic illness to happiness. It was 2018 and I got a job thinking that it would fix my life and my depression. It worked for a while but the monotonous living didn't serve me. So I quit after 7 months of self-torture and let go of the societal standards. I painted this right after as I started offering group painting classes. When I was working 9 to 5, I felt like my life and energy was slowly decaying. This painting is me when I would come home. This painting is me when I got up in the morning with no passion for my work. I dread that morning. That is not how you and I deserve to live. I painted flowers all around to show all the beauty, energy and life around me that I failed to see because I was so stuck. But I've left all that behind and I'm living a purposeful life. I want you to get this painting if you've ever felt this life in your life and you've overcome it. So this painting can serve as a reminder of how far you've come.
