ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting has its own history. At first glance, it seems quite simple. It would seem that there is something incomprehensible depicted there? – Old Moscow, a church, a tram, people waiting for a tram, and two animals – a dog and a pigeon. The first conditional title of the picture was "Help yourself! I have a lot of food!" I am sure that now, during the war in Ukraine, is not the time for "sweet" pictures. But, the main theme of this picture is "we will share, we will live together, there will be enough space, land, food for everyone." Therefore, this painting is a distant echo of the three previous watercolors, which have their own inner subtext. These are the paintings "Autumn in the Moscow region" (it shows peaceful life in Russia - the country that launched the "military operation in Ukraine"). The second picture from this cycle is "Spring. Kharkiv". The end of the cycle, as if the result of reflections on the topic of war and peace, is the picture "Have mercy on us, God, by Your great mercy! ". Therefore, today's watercolor is a continuation of the three watercolors that I have just described. But I wasn't happy with the original title "Help yourself! I have a lot of food!", therefore, having put the picture on Facebook, he invited the audience to give their names for the picture. A lot of names were suggested – "Friends" "Conversation" "Let's be friends!" and so on. But one viewer suggested calling the picture "Moscow. The middle lane, the end of the 50s." To this I replied that I didn't know Moscow well enough to use an old photo to determine the place in Moscow from which this photo was taken. And then the viewer told the story of this place: "This alley was destroyed for the Olympics-80. The Olympic Palace was built behind the Temple. According to legend, the Great Russian commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov was married in this Temple." And he sent me a photo of this alley taken before 1917. After this letter, I called the painting "Moscow. The Seredinniy pereulok, the end of the 50-th."

was born in 1961 in Ukraine, in the city of Kelmentsy, Chernivtsi region in a family of doctors. From the age of 6 he has been engaged in painting, first at the Pioneer Palace, then at an art school. He graduated from an art school in the city of Kuibyshev (now Samara). But while studying at an art school, he had a dream about aviation, and in 1980 he entered a flight school, which he graduated with "honors" and became an aircraft pilot. In 1990 he graduated from the Academy of Civil Aviation in the city of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). But he did not stop painting, constantly participating in various art exhibitions. In 1994, after the collapse of the USSR and the civil aviation system in Ukraine (where he worked), he completely returned to professional painting. In 2000, he moved with his family to the city of Ramenskoye near Moscow, where he lives. Professional artist, member of the Professional Union of Artists. In the last 30 years, almost, he completely switched to painting portraits to order, so he rarely began to participate in exhibitions. Nevertheless, many of his works are in collections of both domestic and foreign connoisseurs of painting. In 2001, on September 13, the US Embassy accepted as a gift from Vitaly a cycle of five paintings called Requiem. He writes many portraits of Members of the Government of Russia and, according to orders received from the Moscow "President-Hotel" Members of the Government of other countries., And, in particular, the People's Republic of China and the People's Liberation Army of China. In October 2022, he emigrated to Israel with his wife.
