Description the painting: «The painting depicts the beautiful village of Kritsa in Crete, it is known for its products of local arts and crafts, especially for its hand-made woolen fabrics and clothes. Some scenes of Jules Dassin’s film “The Crucifixion of Christ” were shot here. Kritsa was built as an amphitheater on a cliff of a hill 11 km from the city of Agios Nikolaos and 4 km south of the ancient city of Lato. Despite the spread of modern lifestyles, an authentic local traditional lifestyle has been preserved in Crete; it is still supported by its two thousand inhabitants. They earn their living by the traditional production of agricultural and horticultural products, daily food products.
